Engage Students with DYNAMIC Author Assemblies!

To all the educators and parent volunteers on my list,

Looking for an exciting way to engage students in curriculum this fall? Consider a dynamic author assembly for grades K-8th. The calendar says summer, but school in these parts starts again this week. I am already looking forward to school assemblies and keynotes this fall in such “exotic” locales as AL, TX, KS, and MS! (“Exotic” for a guy from California, anyway.) My mission: to get students EXCITED about reading, writing, exploring foreign cultures–and getting a fun dose of music such as jazz. I incorporate drumming, rhythmic storytelling, and Common Core principles into my presentations. I’m not sure I can exactly explain how I do it, but I also mix in four languages that I speak: English, Spanish, Japanese and jazz. Maybe this year, I’ll make it out your way, too! (Often I can “piggyback” schools onto existing tours. Or YOU can help me blaze a new trail to your region.) Just give a yell if you would like me to send specific information to share about my rhythmic, DYNAMIC language arts assemblies and bilingual family reading night events for grades K-6th. I have a passion for encouraging communities to read and have provided assemblies at over 1,000 schools!  Here is what others say about my assemblies:

“A special thanks for the amazing time our students, staff and parents had with you. After waiting for 6 years to see you in person, I was like a kid at Christmas! You are an inspiration. Thanks so much for all you do to encourage kids to be lifelong readers.”
-Judi Jensen, teacher, Carmichael Elementary School, Sierra Vista, AZ

“You are an excellent presenter modeling multilingualism, music, creativity, and originality in addition to authoring fun books. You do an awesome job bringing reading joy to the students.”
-Louise Pontius, Librarian, Cantú Elementary School, Alton, TX

“Many of the teachers commented on how wonderful your presentations were: ‘The best we ever had!’ As you know, we have had many authors and illustrators visit our schools, and your presentations are the best!”
–Barbara Bundy, Librarian, Foot of Ten School and Charles Longer School, Hollidaysburg, PA
